Poly is best used for covering items that remain in place or that need to be relatively light weight. The UV protection is not well on these items used in outside applications as it breaks them down faster. It is not water seal tight as this material is more woven like material.

Vinyl is more resistant to sunlight than poly. This material is better as a water seal product. It is coated material so it will not leak the water through it. Its best applications involve covering objects
that need abrasion resistance or
that are moving around (like truck covers) or
that have sharp edges or
that are repeatedly covered and uncovered (e.g. swimming pools)
that are in windy areas

Our vinyl coated tarps are waterproof,mildew resistant and rot resistant. They are mildew resistant and oil rot resistant. They do not warp, bind, or rust. In the manufacturing process nylon threads are placed very close together, north-south and east-west. These threads give our tarps strength and durability.

A coating is poured over the threads. The more coating a tarp contains, the greater its abrasion resistance. The amount of coating also determines a fabric's weight. So "18 oz." and "22 oz." for example, refer to the quantity of coating a tarp has per square yard.

Your tarp will be made with heat-welded seams and 2" double stitched hemmed edges. You can build it with or without grommets.
